I am inspired by wanderlust and a deep respect for the mysterious elements of nature. Spontaneous brushwork, intense color, deep shadow, and vibrant light, my art has energy and tranquility, a place to pause and reflect.
I came to art making early. My father was a painter and I’ve been on this path since childhood.
I earned my BFA in Fine Art from Sacramento State University and my MAED from Auburn at Montgomery, concentrating in painting and printmaking.
Retiring from teaching Art after 18 years, I was able to immerse myself into painting full time.
Beyond Plein Air, I love painting people in everyday settings. The joy and fragility of being human is a constant source of inspiration.
I can't imagine a more challenging and exciting practice to engage in every day.
Painting is pure joy and sometimes the perfect path for meaning on this earth journey.
My wish is that my art sparks your heart strings and brings you as much joy as it did for me in creating it.
